Petite Soul
Co-founders Stef Syfert and Mary Grace Bernstein met in NYC in early 2014 and quickly discovered that not only did they have motherhood in common but just about everything else, too.
While on one of many urban play date adventures, they got to talking about bonnets. Where could one find a cool bonnet for the babes of today? Regretfully, Mary's daughter was soon outgrowing Mary's childhood bonnets, and she couldn't find anything like them on the market. Stef wondered if bonnets for boys even existed, or must her son settle as a beanie baby? That's when they decided to solve the problem themselves, and Petite Soul was born.
Inspired by the look of Mary's childhood bonnet, and using vintage fabric and an old Kenmore, both passed down from Stef's mom, they got to work on their first bonnet. With overwhelming response to their adorable bonnets and unable to keep up, Petite Soul now manufactures locally in a small factory, where Stef and Mary are still able to oversee every detail. They understand just how special it is to own unique pieces that you and your baby can enjoy and cherish, as well as pass down to generations to come.
