"We work to make the lives of families better: from those who knit, dye, and sew our garments to those who romp around in our high-comfort play clothes each day."  – Jamie
When founders Abi and Jamie first got the idea of The Simple Folk, their partners thought they’d lost their minds...between the two of them they had 2 newborns, 2 toddlers, 3 dogs, and several other companies! Needless to say, another project wasn’t the most logical choice…
But the best things in life aren’t always the most logical. As mothers and friends, they'd been on a similar journey that had awakened them to the beauty of gentle parenting, minimalism, free play, natural and organic materials, and eco-friendly living. Together they searched for clothing that reflected their lifestyle and philosophy. They wanted versatile, timeless pieces that were luxuriously soft, practical, pattern-free, made with non-toxic fabrics and dyes, and created in an environmentally and socially conscious way.
Oh, and they also have a slight obsession with one-pieces for babies and kids alike. Finding what they wanted was easier said than done, and they thought, surely they weren't the only parents searching for them.
It started with an embarrassing amount of late night nursing texts, then a Pinterest vision board, and gradually the clothing line they’d dreamt of began to come to life.
The Simple Folk is their minimalist line of nature-inspired, ethical, organic, and high-comfort play clothes that are easy to wear, easy to wash, and easy on the senses, so they can support your children for years to come. They're bringing fair, ethical, and sustainable practices to the fashion industry while also caring for the well-being of little ones worldwide.
They also believe that we all share the responsibility for all future generations, by providing access to opportunities, safe places where they can flourish, and the ability to realize their dreams and achieve their potential. As members of the Change for Women Collective, The Simple Folks is honored to support the Kikulu Foundation, an organization dedicated to unlocking the potential of children in Uganda through access to quality education.

The incredible team at Kikulu Foundation helps fund educational materials and resources, teacher development and support, primary and secondary school scholarships, and portable solar-powered lights for nighttime study for partner communities in Uganda.
