Kata Golda founder Alison Kaplan found the inspiration for her company when, in 1999, she started to craft handmade, hand-dyed wool felt toys for her baby girl. As her daughter grew, Alison made her first sketchbook, decorated with a hand-stitched felt teddy bear and detailed with her name. This was the beginning of Kata Golda’s hand-stitched felt designs. Alison continues to work from her Port Townsend, Washington studio, joyfully crafting beautiful pieces and striving to produce zero waste in the process.
